Well, Google has more besides just that - a whole collection of easter eggs! In case you don't know what an easter egg is, it is a hidden feature within another: Wikipedia states that it is an "is an intentional inside joke, hidden message, or feature in a work such as a computer program, movie, book, or crossword."Some of us probably remember the old old Excel flying game easter egg that was executed by a series of commands, but there were many beyond that.
Here are a few fun ones:
In Google Search
- Do a barrel roll: Type Do a barrel roll
- Bacon number (actor) : Type in the words ‘Bacon number’ (without quotes), followed by an actor or actresses name. Google will come back with how closely he/she has been to Kevin Bacon. (Although this does not seem as accurate as the Oracle of Bacon, but then seriously? Is it that important? Hee!)
- What is the loneliest number: Type What is the loneliest number
- Type: the answer to life the universe and everything
Voice
Sudo, make me a sandwich: Using Google Voice Action feature say “Google, Make me a sandwich”; your phone will answer “What? Make it yourself”, "OK", or “You’re a sandwich”.
