The difference between marketing and community

This is excellent article, because it gets to the purpose of social media. Marketing is to sell something and while higher ed (and especially libraries) have things to sell, we also are about making something - communities, literacy, empowering our communities, educating our students, energizing our faculty, helping ... So, we are both.
