On one list I read (sorry, I forgot which one) a user posted that they thought the term Web 2.0 would slowly fade away. As we all become more comfortable with the dynamic, interactive and user oriented technology on the web (my paraphrasing), Web 2.0 would just become the "web." Thinking over all of the various technological advancements in modern history, it does seem that when they are new and shiny, there are various buzz words associated with them. As the new technology becomes more familiar or in some cases incorporated into our daily lives, what we call it becomes more mundane.
Recently, various lists have been buzzing about the death of Web 2.0, specifically, various services (myspace, twitter, etc.) . C'mon did anyone think twitter would really last?

My money is on Facebook to dethrone MySpace. MySpace has the numbers, but the interface is clunky and malfunctions regularly, and there's little flexibility for adding outside widgets. Now that Facebook has released its API, it's very easy to integrate 3rd party apps, yet the site is still clean and functional. Unless MySpace gets its act together soon, it'll end up being the next Friendster.
Yep, I think myspace may be on the way down, if nothing else, given its lack of reliability.
I've heard/read too many stories about the various technical problems in myspace... and good golly! Is it ever UGLY.
It will be interesting to see if facebook is able to take over that market or if it will be something more like beebo or yahoo 360 or perhaps, something we haven't seen yet.
