Survey on professional development, conference attendance - small or rural libraries

----------------
Unable to attend another conference because you’re understaffed? Are you miles (and miles) away from another academic library? Do you count downloading apps to your smartphone as professional development?
Academic Librarians in small and rural environments face unique challenges in gaining access to formal and informal continuing education, networking, and professional development opportunities.  If you are a credentialed academic librarian currently working in a small or rural library, we’d like to hear from you.
The purpose of this study is to understand:
  • The level of access academic librarians in small and rural libraries have to formal and informal professional development and networking opportunities;
  • How this group locates and participates in professional development, networking, and continuing education opportunities; and
  • Barriers that effect efforts of this group to gain professional development/continuing education
Please visit https://lime.usca.edu/limesurvey/index.php?sid=83927&lang=en to take the online survey.
Thank you for your interest and your support of this research.
Sincerely,
Kaetrena Davis Kendrick, M.S.L.S. (PI)
